    Thanks for sharing! Qq - is there any dependency on timeframe you choose? For example. VP for 1min vs 5m. Which one is most beneficial?

    • @BlackGirlStocks
      @BlackGirlStocks День тому

      Hey, no problem at all! Regarding your question, yeah, the timeframe you choose for the Volume Profile (VP) really depends on what kind of trader you are. If you're into quick, in-and-out trades, the 1-minute might be more your speed. But if you're looking for a broader view, the 5-minute could give you a better picture of the market's movements. There isn't really a 'one size fits all' answer; it's more about what suits your trading style best. Hope that helps!

    I have a question about setting a stop loss. Once you select stop limit how far apart should you set your stop price and limit price ? If the limit price is $4.05 should you set the stop price at $4? Also the bid price is $3.90

    • @BlackGirlStocks
      @BlackGirlStocks День тому

      When setting a stop-limit order, like placing a stop price at $4 with a limit price at $4.05 while the bid price is $3.90, consider your personal risk tolerance and the stock's volatility. The gap between the stop and limit prices affects the likelihood of your order being filled but also involves a trade-off between execution certainty and price control. In volatile markets, a wider gap might ensure your order gets filled, but with less precision on the execution price. For a stock that’s less volatile, a narrower gap can offer more control, yet there's a risk the order might not execute if the price moves too rapidly. Balancing these factors is key, aiming to align with your trading strategy and how much risk you're willing to take. Remember, no single approach fits all situations; it’s about finding what works best for you.

    Wait so break even only applies if I don’t sell the contract before the expiration date? Then that determines if I’m profit or in a loss?

    • @BlackGirlStocks
      @BlackGirlStocks 5 днів тому

      Yeah, that's pretty much it. Think of break-even as the point where you're not making money, but you're not losing it either. And yep, it usually comes into play if you hold onto your contract until it expires. If you decide to sell it before the expiration date, the situation might change. At that point, how much you've made or lost depends on the price you sell it at compared to what you paid. So, in a nutshell, the whole break-even thing is more about what happens at expiration. If you're selling early, you're playing a different game. I hope that helps clarify things a bit.

    Do you think using RSI is a good method to use when looking to get in and get out of a trade option

    • @BlackGirlStocks
      @BlackGirlStocks 11 днів тому

      Hey! So about using RSI as your go-to for hopping in and out of trades, I wouldn't really call it the MVP for entry and exit cues. It's pretty solid for spotting when things are getting a bit too hot (overbought) or too cool (oversold) in the market's trends, though. But for those crisp entry and exit signals, you might want to check out a few other indicators. Here are some worth considering: SuperTrend Indicator - Super cool for catching trend direction and can give pretty clear signals on when to enter or exit based on its line flips. Support and Resistance Zones - Classic and crucial. They help highlight areas where the price might bounce back or break through, giving you a heads-up on potential entry and exit points. Fibonacci Retracement Levels - These are great for spotting the potential reversal points in the price of an asset. They can indicate where to set your sights for entering or exiting a trade. Moving Averages - Can't go wrong here. They smooth out price data to show the trend direction and can act as dynamic support or resistance lines. These should give you a solid toolkit for plotting your trades with more precision. Dive in, experiment with them to see how they align with your trading strategy. Happy trading!

    So let’s say I bought a call for Apple with a Exp date of a week I hold until I get my profits and once I see delta going down and theta going up that’s the sign to sell ?

    • @BlackGirlStocks
      @BlackGirlStocks 12 днів тому

      Oh, good question! But nope, not necessarily. Here’s the thing: when you're looking at options like your Apple call, the whole delta and theta bit is more like ingredients in a recipe rather than a clear "sell now" signal. So, delta's showing how much your option's price could change with the stock price, right? And theta's about how much time is eating away at your option's value. But deciding to sell isn't just about watching delta dip and theta climb. You've gotta consider the big picture-like what's happening with Apple (new releases, earnings reports, etc.) and what's going on in the wider stock market or economy. Those factors can really sway your decision. So, use delta and theta as part of your toolkit, but remember to zoom out and look at the whole landscape before you make your move. Sometimes holding on a bit longer, even if delta and theta aren't looking primo, can pay off if you've got a good read on the bigger trends.

    Question let’s say Apple is trading at $185 I buy a call ITM at $179 does that mean I’d be making profit of the bat as long as the stock price doesn’t drop below $179

    • @BlackGirlStocks
      @BlackGirlStocks 15 днів тому

      Getting straight into your Apple stock call situation: Yes, buying an in-the-money (ITM) call option like at $179 when the stock is trading at $185 puts you in a potentially profitable spot from the get-go. This is mainly because the call option gives you the right, though not the obligation, to buy the stock at $179, which is already cheaper than the market price. But here’s the deal, it’s not just about the difference between the strike price and the current stock price. You have to consider the premium you paid for the call. This premium eats into your profit. So, for you to actually make a profit, Apple’s stock needs to not just stay above $179; it needs to stay above $179 plus whatever premium you paid. And don't forget the other factors like expiration dates and those tricky Greeks! Options lose value as they approach their expiration (that's theta for you), and how sensitive the option price is to changes in the stock price (hello, delta!) plays a big part too. Options trading isn't just about those initial numbers; it’s a bit more dynamic, so keep an eye on those aspects too.

    Ok I kid you not when I say, this was the best explanation on what Options is. I have seen so many videos and I was starting to think it was something wrong with me and why I was not grasping it. But you explained it very well! 🙌🏾

    So what if volume and open interest are both 0?

      When you see a situation where both option volume and open interest are at zero, it kind of means no one's trading that particular option at the moment.

    I’m set my to 10% every trade. But I’m also have trailing stoploss.

      Heyy! Setting your goal at 10% for every trade sounds like a solid plan, and adding a trailing stop loss into the mix? Smart move! It's like having a safety net while climbing up a ladder; it catches you if things start to slip back down, locking in those gains or protecting you from crazy losses. Keep finessing your strategy, and feel free to share any updates or questions you have. I'm always here to talk about it!
